Our Story

Owners Roberta Churchin and Bob Webster established Shades of Green Nursery in 1981 with the vision of fostering a love for plants and organic gardening. For decades, it has been a trusted resource, offering expert guidance and a welcoming environment for gardening enthusiasts of all levels.

Now, Roberta and Bob have a new vision of turning Shades of Green into the Shades of Green Legacy Garden. This peaceful sanctuary will remain a treasured space.

About the Garden

Shades of Green Nursery will be transformed into the Shades of Green Legacy Garden
— a serene green space where visitors can observe and reconnect with nature. This urban oasis will offer the rare experience of quiet surroundings and the opportunity to enjoy being immersed in the abundance of plants. Unique features will include a labyrinth, a reflexology walk and a children’s vegetable garden.

This cherished space will be protected from development in perpetuity by a conservation easement created in 2023 in partnership with Green Spaces Alliance.
